We have a pair of Hungarian teenagers staying with us at the moment. I defeated the lad Tomas at chess half an hour ago. He is the second best chess player at his school so I feel mightily pleased. No Eastern European scalp over the black and white squares is to be sniffed at. He wants a rematch later and pathetically I feel slightly nervous.
